Much of the debut album A Thousand Half Truths from Norway's alt-pop quartet Making Marks is so relentlessly sunny and determinedly upbeat and sweet that your head hurts and teeth ache. Not so much with "Like Spinning," one of Half Truths' best songs and the band's new video. Stream the full album here.

Canadian roots-rock duo Melissa McClelland and Luke Doucet -- aka Whitehorse -- have been on a serious roll since the release of their 2012 full length The Fate of the World Depends on This Kiss. After last year's live album The Road to Massey Hall and this year's en français EP Éphémère sans repère, Whitehorse are launching a new Kickstarter campaign for their upcoming third album Leave No Bridge Unburned, duo February 2015 via Six Shooter. Producer Gus Van Go (The Stills) has been recruited for the studio work -- the first time Doucet has relinquished the production reins -- and a great new song "Pins and Needles" has been debuted (though it's not certain if it will make the final track list). Click through to stream a cover of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe" and watch the video for "Achille's Desire."

It's been just about a year since Ruth Moody released her exquisite sophomore album These Wilder Things so we were definitely ready for something new. We got it on Record Store Day when Moody dropped a new song "Far and Wide" as one side of a split banjo-driven 7" with Old Man Luedecke. Pick up the vinyl here.

Vagabond is certainly an appropriate title for the debut album from Australian singer/songwriter Stu Larsen. Traveling the world, sleeping on sofas, writing and performing in living rooms and clubs, Larsen has quietly made a name for himself and his alt/folk tunes and winning fans in far-flung towns across the globe. With strong critical buzz Down Under and a successful tour opening for Mike "Passenger" Rosenberg in North America last year, Larsen was signed to Nettwerk and completed his first official full-length in Sydney with co-producers Rosenberg and Mike Vallejo. Vagabond drops July 15. Wrapping up an extensive tour in the U.K. and Europe, Larsen headlines dates in the U.S. and Canada beginning May 1 (dates below). Listen to lead track "Skin & Bone" and then click through to stream the original version "San Francisco."
