FULL-TIME POSITIONS

Full-time Integrated Digital Account Executive

POSITION SUMMARY: Are you looking to be on the forefront of something new?  At least, something that is new to our company.  Are you the type of person who makes small talk with others in the queue?  Do you like to learn about others?  Lotus is a proven traditional media company that is starting up a digital advertising department to enhance our already thriving radio business and frankly we need some help.  As a privately-owned media company, our culture is one that rewards creativity, independent thinking, and dedication to our community and our clients.

Our need is for an Integrated Digital Account Executive to lead our digital sales initiatives in Northern Nevada. These digital initiatives include display, streaming, custom sites, website development, along with a host of other digital products.  The recipe for success is pretty straight forward:  mix your passion for digital marketing with a desire to help your community grow and then throw in a dash of fearless personality, stir it up and you’re ready to go.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Spend at least 50% of your time out of the building in front of local business decision makers
  • Develop strategic digital marketing plans and present them to local business decision makers with the assistance of our product providers
  • Design and implement advertising campaigns and campaign elements (display ads, video and audio pre-roll, websites, graphics, etc.)
  • Help local for-profit and non-profit businesses grow by persuading them to implement your recommended, customized, digital marketing campaigns
  • Be a positive force in the building

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
  • Sales experience preferred
  • Thorough understanding of all digital marketing products preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and an enthusiastic self-starter who is able to work effectively in a team environment and also independently
  • Must have strong presentation skills
  • Must have effective time management skills
  • Must possess a will to win with the core focus on hitting digital budgets
  • Deep familiarity with MS Office suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) along with Photoshop, HTML, video editing software preferred

 

PART TIME POSITIONS:

TRAFFIC ASSISTANT

Position Summary: The position of Traffic Assistant supports the Traffic Manager and Business Manager which interfaces and communicates with all other departments within the station, including Sales, Traffic, Production, Promotions, and Programming Departments as well as Advertising Agencies and clients.

The purpose of the Traffic Assistant is to coordinate the scheduling of commercials including makegoods/barters, tracking and entering copy, producing daily logs, and completing affidavits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working daily commercial logs for all stations to maximize inventory and revenue
  • Assisting with entering media according to instructions, assign media numbers to orders and check pertinent details and necessary follow up with assigned AE
  • Assist with producing and distributing periodic and ad hoc reports as needed from Marketron (sponsorship openings, daily spot times etc.)
  • Assist with order entry
  • Assist with makegoods/barters which includes entering the orders and production
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience within the broadcasting industry is preferred
  • MS Office skills (Power Point, Excel and Word) a plus
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exceptional attention to details
  • Minimum of 1 year preferred for Traffic software – preferably with Marketron
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize daily and urgent tasks

ON-AIR TALENT/BOARD OPERATOR

Position Summary: The position of Board Operator supports the Production/Programming Department, which is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of the station’s associated computer/software equipment and systems necessary to meet Production/Programming responsibilities; including other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for operating the broadcast board for live and taped broadcasts, inclusive of editing, recording and maintaining network feeds.
  • Responsible for protecting the station’s FCC license.
  • Organize and gather feeds, edit, and distribute copies of shows; check logs and trouble shoot technical issues/problems.
  • May be responsible for setting up remote broadcast equipment.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in the broadcasting industry within a similar role is preferred
  • NexGen experience required
  • Demonstrate Production abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree is desired, but not required
  • Knowledge in broadcast equipment
  • Adobe Audition experience a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot broadcast equipment.
  • This is a service oriented position requiring excellent written and oral communication skills, personable interaction with fellow employees.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • The position may require use of personal and/or company vehicles for travel to sites as necessary.
  • May be required to work other shifts as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety practices
  • Valid Drivers’ License and excellent driving record required. Must have a reliable means of transportation.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Primarily located in an office environment but will require travel to remote sites. Some repetitive motion required. Ability to climb ladders, step ladders and other necessary equipment. Ability to work in small spaces and lift up to 50+ pounds.

REMOTE TECH

Position Summary: The Remote Tech will assist the Promotions Department with client remote broadcasts and station events throughout Northern Nevada. This is a service oriented position requiring excellent oral communication skills, personable interaction with fellow employees and the public, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive and maintain station vehicles. Station vehicles should be clean and ready for the next remote.
  • Execute technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events and maintain working condition of remote equipment and station vehicles. Assist station Air Talent as needed.
  • Represent the station in a positive, professional manner at client remote broadcasts and station events.
  • Apply positive, professional communication skills with customer service mentality when interacting with co-workers, listeners, clients, etc.
    Reports to the Promotions Director.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned by Programming, Promotions, Sales and General Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Valid Driver’s License and excellent driving record required.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be a motivated and enthusiastic self-starter who is able to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, detail oriented, highly organized, responsive, and excellent at time management.
  • Ability to think quickly with good problem-solving skills while still maintaining safety for you and others.
  • Must have reliable means of transportation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be comfortable driving vans and pulling trailer.
  • Ability to assist station event planning and execution as directed from time to time which may include live remote breaks.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift or move a minimum of 75+ pounds and standing for long periods may be required. Requires travel to station events, client sites. Must have a reliable means of transportation and maintain current insurance and registration.
